How do I schedule an appointment?
Fill out the form under ‘Contact’ with your information. Someone from our team will call you as soon as possible to schedule an appointment.
Do I need a referral?
North Carolina is a direct access state, which means you DO NOT need a referral from a physician in order to receive a physical therapy evaluation or treatment.
Do you take my insurance?
The current insurance based model for physical therapy does not cover the services we provide. Our private pay model allows us to work towards YOUR goals and allows the therapist to have autonomy in treatment, rather than being dictated by how many visits are allowed by insurance.
You may be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance company based on your “out of network” benefits. If this is of interest to you, you can obtain information regarding your coverage by contacting your insurance company and requesting information regarding coverage for “out of network physical therapy.” We are also happy to provide you with a superbill (itemized document) which has the necessary information to submit to your insurance company. Seeking and obtaining reimbursement for services is the sole responsibility of the patient.

What to expect?
We use the Jane app for all forms and payment at ADAPT Wellness. After making an appointment, intake and consent forms will be sent to you which must be filled out prior to your first session. Your therapist will conduct a thorough evaluation on your first visit and make recommendations based on their findings and YOUR goals. An orthopedic assessment will take place, testing range of motion and strength. If you are being seen for pelvic floor therapy, your therapist may recommend a pelvic floor assessment. With your permission and consent, a vaginal external and internal exam will be performed in order to fully assess your pelvic floor musculature and function. You may have a friend or family member present as a chaperone for your comfort. A pelvic exam can be performed if you are menstruating, however this is to your comfort level.
Soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, joint mobilization, cupping and kinesio-taping may be utilized during your treatment depending on your needs. Your therapist may introduce exercises, stretching, proprioception activities and trauma informed yoga depending on your goals.
Cancellation and No Show Policy
Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists' day that could have been filled by another patient. As such, we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 24 hours notice, will be charged 50% of the visit. Full cost will be charged for a no show to the scheduled appointment.
